I will probably take 'A Suitable Boy' on hols – it's almost a tradition. I pack my bear and my copy of A Suitable Boy and lug the latter back and forth without ever getting very far with reading it. Unbelievably, it's still not available on Kindle which is sad, because that's how I justified buying one.

I'm not planning a big holiday this summer but we will go up to my mum's for a few days in July. I'm hoping to get to the Harrogate Crime Festival and I might take a book by someone who'll be there – perhaps recent books by Val McDermid or Mark Billingham. Then again, it might be something else entirely. It will probably be whatever I'm reading at the time with something that I've been wanting to read for a while.

Now that's a tricky question…I'm just in the process of booking a holiday for the end of July, but I don't know what I'll be reading. I'm planning to reread Charley Boorman and Ewan MacGregor's travel books sometime soon as I'm going to see Charley's live show in November, so it could be one of them (I'm a huge fan).
I've recently read the first of Christian Jacq's Ramses books though, and a friend has lent me the rest of the series, so unless I get through them quickly it could be one (or two) of them. The first book was really fascinating and quite exciting, an ideal summer holiday read.

I have my holiday in a couple of months so I shall look forward to choosing my books. For 2 weeks away, I usually take about 6-8 books. I'm currently working my way through Peter Robinson's 'Inspector Banks' series so one of my holiday books will be the next in the series, together with a Peter James. I also take a 'big book' so I think a Tasmina Perry will be in the case. I like to take a selection of crime, chick-lit and woman's fiction.

If I am lucky enough to win one of these books I will put it in my bag, otherwise I will take a mix of crime and chicklit – titles will depend on what is unread when I pack!

Either of these books would be quite perfect – Sarah Challis' Footprints in the Sand and Adele Parks' Playing Away were companions on previous holidays! My reading pile has to include the latest Tasmina Perry, a couple of thrillers and the best of chicklit. My recommendation for anyone holidaying soon would be Here Come The Girls by the wonderful Milly Johnson.

I was just in the bookshop planning my summer holiday reading today! My husband already has 5 picked out. I am going to start with How to be Married by Polly Williams. Then the next one will be Full Circle by Michael Palin. After that, I'm open to suggestions!
