Welcome to the first book giveaway competition on Curious Book Fans site.

Task: You need to vote for 3 books reviewed on Curious Book Fans before March 1st by posting reply here, on the Forum. The books could be either your top 3 favourites or top 3 on your wish list to read.
The second part of the task is to choose which book you would like as a prize from the list below.

Rules:

- Two winners will be decided by the lucky draw.
- Winners will receive a chosen book from this list:

1. The Lieutenant by Kate Grenville (2009)
(winner of the Orange Prize 2001 with 'The Idea of Perfection' and Commonwealth Writers' Prize 2006 and shortlisted for Man Booker prize with 'The Secret River'). In 1788 Daniel Rooke sets out on a journey that will chnage the course of his life. As a lieutenant in the First Fleet, he lands on the wild and unknown shores of New South Wales.

2. Charles Bukowski: Locked in the Arms of a Crazy Life – the biography by Howard Sounes (2010)
Locked in the Arms of a Crazy Life is the classic biography of Charles Bukowski, the hard-drinking barfly whose semi-autobiographical books about low-life America made him a cult figure across the globe.

3. The Bird Room by Chris Killen (2010)
When Will meets Alice, he can't believe his luck. She's smart, sexy and, much to Will's surprise, in love with him. But tru love never came easy and soon devotion leads Will to something darker.

4. The Optimist – one man's search for the brighter side of life by Laurence Shorter (2010)
When it comes to bad news, we've never had it so good. Perhaps it is time to be a little more optimistic?. That's what Laurence Shorter decided. And that's why he set himself the challenge of meeting the world's most cheerful people.

5.  One Day by David Nicholls (2009)
15th July 1988. Emma and Dexter meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways. So where will they be on this one day next year? And the year after that? And every year that follows?
Twenty years, two people, ONE DAY.

- No cash alternative to the prize will be available and all prizes are non-transferable .

- The competition is open to UK citizens only.

- Only one entry will be accepted per person registered on Curious Book Fans Forum.

- The closing date for entry is midnight on Friday 16th April.

- Winners will be notified via email by Monday 19th April.

- Winners' names will be published on Curious Book Fans Forum.

Good luck!

Hi, not sure if this is the right way to do this but here goes.

The 3 books that caught my eye are: I See You – This is the type of book I really enjoy so this is my no: 1 to read

The Missing – again a book I would enjoy reading no: 2 to read

Star Faced Crocodile – a book to read with my youngest granddaughter

she really loves animal and dinasaur books so this would be ideal

The book I would like to win is: The Opitmist – it sounds a fun story and an enjoyable read.

I actually found it quite difficult to navigate my way around the old reviews so I think I missed a lot of them. Is it possible to have a searchable list with names and titles to make it easier to find things?

Anyway, the three I'd want to read would be:

3. Murder in the Dark

2. Last Man Standing

1. The Ex-wives (because Deborah Moggach just can't write a bad book if she tried)

And I'd want to win One Day – sounds fascinating.

Currently you can use options in the right sidebar to browse through book reviews by book genre, by review author and by month the article was published. You can also use Search feature. I often change front page to display both new and old reviews using book cover images.

There are almost 150 book reviews on the site at the moment. Your idea is very good and I will start working on a simple index page as well.

There is an Index page now. You can access it from the top menu and it has a list of all articles/reviews with the title and author's name listed. Hope this helps…
